ITU’s CoHE Research Universities 2023 Performance
ITU increased its performance in 16 indicators compared to the previous year in Research Universities 2023 Performance Rankings announced by CoHE.

Istanbul Technical University’s (ITU) academic studies, which redefine engineering with a science-based approach, achieve successful results in academic performance rankings of universities in our country.
CoHE Research Universities Academic Performance Rankings was announced in the Research Universities Evaluation Meeting hosted by Gazi University in Ankara on September 16, 2024. Our Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal and our Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Lütfiye Durak Ata were present at the meeting.
ITU, which is in the A1 group of research universities that show high-level research performance, ranked 2nd with 72 points among 3 state universities in the same group with very close scores. It ranked 4th among state and foundation universities in the same group. In the rankings, in which a total of 23 universities were evaluated, ITU’s quality score increased from 28.29 to 30 points compared to the previous year, while its capacity score was 31 out of 40 and its cooperation score was 11 out of 20.
ITU increased its performance in 16 indicators compared to the previous year. ITU’s performance indicators that increased the most compared to 2022 were as follows: Performance in Academic Achievement Rankings increased by 40%, Rate of University-Industry Collaborative Publications increased by 41.5%, Number of National Science Awards increased by 66.7%, Number of Exchange Faculty Members/Number of Students increased by 85.8%, and University-Industry Collaborative R&D and Innovation Projects within the scope of Public Funds increased by 220.6%.
