TUSEB Support to Our Faculty Member’s Project

Electronics and Communication Engineering faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsa Yıldırım’s project titled “Deep Learning-Based Self-Supervised and Task-Adaptive Digital Breast Tomosynthesis Reconstruction Algorithm” received support from TUSEB.

The project titled “Deep Learning-Based Self-Supervised and Task-Adaptive Digital Breast Tomosynthesis Reconstruction Algorithm” developed by our Electronics and Communication Engineering faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsa Yıldırım was entitled to receive support within the scope of “TUSEB-2023-C1-YZ-Priority R&D Artificial Intelligence Based Medical Image Processing Project Call”.

The project will address early diagnosis and effective treatment of breast cancer, which is the most common type of cancer in women with advancing age. The study will develop task-adaptive deep learning-based methods that do not require labeled data, can reduce the total dose to which the patient is exposed, and can achieve reconstruction with better quality than the images produced by the device, increasing the potential for clinical use.
