The scientific article on cyber security prepared by our faculty members Prof. Dr. Şule Gündüz Öğüdücü, Prof. Dr. Berk Canberk and our research assistant Sümeyye Baş from the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering, together with our research assistants Kıymet Kaya and Elif Ak from the Department of Computer Engineering, was deemed worthy of the “best article” award at the 2024 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering International Conference on Communications (IEEE ICC 2024) held in the United States.
The award-winning article entitled “X-CBA: Explainability Aided CatBoosted Anomal-E for Intrusion Detection System” examines malicious intrusion detection systems used in combating cyber threats. The article also draws attention to the role of machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) models in detecting attacks on computer networks, and focuses on X-CBA, one of the intrusion detection systems that uses these models as well as adopting explainable artificial intelligence methodology.
We congratulate our academics and wish them success in their studies.
