Students, researchers, academics, and industry experts from France, Romania, Hungary, and Türkiye came together to reflect and work on sustainability goals and projects. The two-day workshop consisted of innovative education approaches, industry expectations, opportunities for collaboration, and plans for the future. The first day focused on education approaches from different universities within EELISA, along with a reflective workshop while the second day focused on the industry approaches and collaboration opportunities.
The workshop ended with plans for the future conducted with students and academics. The highlights of this plan are barriers to implementing sustainable practices when educating students, opportunities for projects, sustainability for the SuSCo Community, student involvement, and research gaps.
About the SuSCo Community
EELISA European University aims to raise the next generation of engineers with the “European Engineering” mindset. EELISA aims to nurture an interdisciplinary, technical, non-technical, skill-oriented, inclusive, and diverse set of engineers to meet the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Right at the heart of these goals, the EELISA SuSCo Community comes to life.
The SuSCo Community aims to educate future engineers with interdisciplinary tools to equip them for the sustainability needs of global challenges. In addition to educating engineers the community also tries to meet the industry needs. At the workshops organized by the community, participants try to meet the needs of the students and industry actors alike, through education practices while sharing their expertise in the field.
