ITU’s Inspiring Women Engineers
“Inspiring Women Engineers” Panel, organized by ITU WSC in SET, was held at ITU Ayazağa Campus, Prof. Dr. Nahit Kumbasar Conference Hall on March 5, 2024.

“Inspiring Women Engineers” Panel, organized by Women Studies Center in Science, Engineering and Technology operating under Istanbul Technical University (ITU WSC in SET), featured speeches by ITU’s women engineers and academics at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Prof. Dr. Nahit Kumbasar Conference Hall.
At the opening of the program, ITU WSC in SET Director Prof. Dr. Hatice Ayataç emphasized the importance of increasing the visibility of gender studies and pointed out the valuable role undertaken by women engineers in the development of our country.
After the opening speech, our Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Lütfiye Durak Ata, Faculty of Computer and Informatics faculty member Prof. Dr. Hatice Köse, Faculty of Chemical-Metallurgical faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duygu Ağaoğulları and Maritime Faculty graduate and Türkiye’s first woman rescue ship captain Gizem Turan shared their experiences in their fields with the audience, moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Melis Oğuz Çevik.
