Trophy Excitement at ITU Staff Volleyball Tournament

Another season of ITU Staff Volleyball Tournament has been completed. The champion of the tournament, whose final and third place matches were played on February 21, was the Construction Team.

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) continues to organize sports events for all ITU members for a healthy life. The Staff Volleyball Tournament ended with the matches held at ITU Central Sports Hall on February 21, 2024. The staff teams went on the court for championship and third place matches. The matches witnessed great excitement. 

The tournament took place in a mixed team format. A total of 11 teams participated. Maritime Faculty and Faculty of Computer and Informatics teams met for the third place. Faculty of Computer and Informatics won the match 2-1. The Fair-Play Award was given to the Maritime Team. 

The Final Match was played between ARDEK (Office of the Dean of Research) and Construction Volleyball Teams. The Construction Team, which won the match 3-0, became champion. The match was refereed by Ayça Kestek and İlgi Ceval from the Turkish Volleyball Federation. 

Hande Aytek, Administrative Personnel Affairs Branch Manager, presented the Fair-Play Award to the Maritime Faculty Team, and our Deputy Secretary-General Hatice Ekem Akçan presented the third-place trophy and bronze medals. Health, Culture and Sports Director Yusuf Ziya Öztürk presented the trophy and silver medals to ARDEK, which finished the tournament in second place. The champion Construction Team received their trophy and gold medals from our Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Deniz.
