Cooperation between ITU and Farplas

ITU and Farplas are cooperating within the scope of the EU Horizon 2020 Teaming AI project consortium. ITU-supported artificial intelligence will be used for instant detection and prevention of faults in Farplas injection machines.

In its 250th year, Istanbul Technical University continues to carry out successful international projects in the field of developing artificial intelligence algorithms. Teaming.AI is a research project funded under the European Union Horizon 2020 program, with ITU Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Application and Research Center (ITU AI) among its consortium partners. The project aims to design and produce machine learning algorithms and human-machine interaction models necessary to increase the use of artificial intelligence in smart manufacturing technologies.

The project, which is led by the Austrian R&D company SCCH and contributed by a total of 15 partners from 8 countries, has ITU Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nazım Kemal Üre as its principal investigator on behalf of ITU.

Partnering with Farplas, the end-user and data provider company in Türkiye, ITU is implementing artificial intelligence-based production control algorithms developed within the scope of the project in FARPLAS processes. In line with the cooperation between ITU and Farplas, ITU-supported artificial intelligence will be used for instant detection and prevention of faults in Farplas injection machines.
