International BioGate Competition at ITU

GALEN Project Team, consisting of ITU undergraduate students, will organize the International BioGate Biotechnology and Life Sciences Competition, which will be held for the first time this year, on August 19-20.

As Istanbul Technical University celebrates its 250th anniversary, it continues to carry out pioneering work in the international arena. GALEN, Türkiye’s and Istanbul Technical University’s largest undergraduate project team working in the field of biotechnology, will organize the BioGate Biotechnology and Life Sciences Competition and Conference at the same time, as a first in the international arena. The competition that consists of 5 different categories, which will be a first in the world and in our country, will take place on 19-20 August at Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center.

In the competition, where academics from many universities such as Oxford, Washington, Johns Hopkins and Aarhus, who have devoted themselves to the fields of artificial pandemic, synthetic biology, astrobiology, biosensors and computational biology, will serve as jury members and give conferences, not only biotechnology, but also many interdisciplinary project presentations will also take place.

Participation in the conference will be free of charge and projects will have the opportunity to meet with companies in the foyer area.
