ITU at Modern Technologies of Transport and Logistics Workshop

Istanbul Technical University, Azerbaijan Technical University and Tashkent State Transport University met at the “Silk Road in the 21st Century: Modern Technologies of Transport and Logistics” Workshop in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

As Istanbul Technical University celebrates its 250^th anniversary, it continues to take part in international projects for a sustainable future. ITU, Azerbaijan Technical University and Tashkent State Transport University came together at the workshop titled “Silk Road in the 21st Century: Modern Technologies of Transport and Logistics” held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan on June 15, 2023.

Speaking at the workshop, which aims to bring a new perspective to modern transportation and logistics sector and is also an important step towards the development of transportation and logistics between the three countries, our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu said, “As in every subject, both governments and companies will become more conscious day by day thanks to the trainings on sustainability. As people’s awareness of sustainability increases, environmentally friendly practices will become much more widespread.”

Tashkent State Transport University Acting Rector Adil Abdurahmanov said, “Istanbul Technical University is in the top thousand in the world rankings. We will receive support on our education quality and methods,” and thus drew attention to the importance of cooperation in the field of education as well as logistics.

During the two-day workshop, more than twenty experts made presentations on different areas of the sector. At the end of the presentations, a cooperation protocol was signed between the three universities.
