ITU AUV Team is the World Champion

ITU AUV team became the world champion in the Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Competition held in Singapore and made us proud. The joy of our team, which waved the flag of our country and the banner of our university in Singapore, was remarkable.

ITU AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) Team, which was accepted to the Singapore AUV Challenge (SAUVC) 2022 competition organized by Singapore Polytechnic University, won the world’s first place among 42 competitors from 19 countries.

On the first day of the competition consisting of two stages, ITU AUV Team qualified for the finals by completing a task in 15.02 seconds, and achieved the first place by completing tasks such as “passing through the gate”, “dropping the ball”, “picking up the ball” given in the final stage where there were multiple scoring criteria.

Adding a new one to the valuable achievements of ITU’s many project teams, ITU AUV team raised the bar even higher with this award, which it received with the contributions of our students from various departments. The team members started preparing for new competitions as soon as they returned home.
