ITU Ranked 142. in the World and First in Turkey in QS World University Rankings by Subject
Istanbul Technical University (ITU), ranked 142. in “Engineering and Technology” area of QS World University Rankings by Subject, whereas it became the 1st in Turkey in a total of eight different areas.

2022 data for the area based world university rankings determined by the world-renowned British education consultancy firm QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) has been announced. Obtaining very successful degrees among Turkish universities, ITU raised the bar since last year when it entered the list at the 202nd place and ranked 142nd in the world in “Engineering and Technology” area this year. ITU ranked 1st in Turkey in the same area. ITU also achieved a great success by entering the first 50 of QS World Rankings in Mineral & Mining and Petroleum Engineering areas. In the “Civil and Structural Engineering” area, while ITU was in the range of 101-150 last year, this year it took place in the top 100 by making a big progress.
ITU is 1st in a total of 8 areas
ITU took the 1st place in Turkey in a total of 8 areas of QS 2022 rankings by subject, including Engineering and Technology; Architecture and Built Environment; Chemical Engineering; Civil and Structural Engineering; Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering; Chemistry; Environmental Sciences; and Materials Sciences.
ITU is in the world’s first 50 in Mineral & Mining and Petroleum Engineering
ITU achieved a great success by being among the world’s first 50 universities in Mineral & Mining Engineering and Petroleum Engineering areas of QS.

QS World University Rankings by Subject
QS World University Rankings by Subject is the university rankings made by Quacquarelli Symonds company according to various academic criteria. Between 2004-2009 they worked jointly with Times Higher Education and they published THE–QS World University Rankings. QS also evaluates and ranks universities based on departments and faculties.
