ITU ROV Team Captain and ITU Department of Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering 4th year student İsmail Hakkı Çelik said, “We prepare for the MATE ROV Competition, the most prestigious international ROV competition, every year. We are a team of 30 people from different departments of our University. We attended MATE ROV Competition World as the national champion. We competed with many world champions. Our achievement this year is very valuable for us, as we continued our work under difficult pandemic restrictions. Our school has always supported us during this period. Despite the restrictions, many of my teammates kept up their work and responsibilities. I am proud to be a part of this team. We are grateful to the institutions and organizations who contributed to our success by giving their support unconditionally.”

ITU ROV Team is a project team established in 2016 within Istanbul Technical University Faculty of Naval Architecture and Marine Sciences. The team aims to attend many national and international competitions with the different vehicles they produce and achieve successful ratings. One of these competitions, the MATE ROV Championship, is a challenging international competition attended by teams from all over the world.
