Water in Istanbul workshop will be held on 24 November

ITU and BIAA will take place “The 4th Workshop on Rainwater Collection in Public Spaces” in Istanbul. The workshop, which will be held as part of the “Water in Istanbul” project, will bring together many public institutions addressing water management in Istanbul.

As part of the “Water in Istanbul” project, which was started in 2021 by Istanbul Technical University together with Edinburgh University and Northumbria University and supported by the British Institute at Ankara (BIAA), a workshop will be held at The Marmara Pera Hotel on November 24.

ITU Department of Fine Arts lecturer Asst. Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Özkan Aygün, as the co-director of the project on behalf of ITU, will address the participants at the opening of the workshop. ITU, Ministries, İSKİ and İBB; representatives from various universities and public institutions are expected to attend the workshop

The “Water in Istanbul” project focuses on Istanbul, which has needed water management throughout its history. It aims to investigate water management policies in Istanbul in the 15th century and in the 80s, when it received heavy immigration, and to discuss and solve the water problems that the city may experience today and in the future, to benefit from the knowledge of past practices.
