Future17 Global Sustainability Project Programme, in Partnership with Our University, Now Open for Student Applications

Applications are now open for the new cycle of the Future17 Global Sustainability Project Programme, delivered in partnership with QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) and the University of Exeter, with Istanbul Technical University (ITU) as one of its key stakeholders. The application deadline is 31 August.

ITU is proud to take part in the 10th cycle of Future17, an international initiative that brings together universities, students, and leading employers to develop innovative solutions to sustainability challenges aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Application and evaluation requirements

Students who are interested in sustainability, the circular economy, the climate crisis, and global issues—and who have a strong command of English sufficient to work on international projects—are eligible to apply. During the evaluation process, candidates will be expected to meet the following criteria and submit the required documents:

Eligibility

Must be an ITU undergraduate (having completed the first year), master’s, or PhD student.

Required documents

• A Word or PDF file including: first name, surname, ITU email address, Gmail address, year of study, department/faculty, and field of study.
• Current transcript.
• English Proficiency Certificate (if available): As all projects are conducted in English, a current English proficiency test accepted by ITU (ITU Proficiency, TOEFL, YÖKDİL, YDS, etc.).
• Social and Social Responsibility Activities: If applicable, active roles, events, and sustainability-focused volunteer work carried out in ITU student clubs (must be specified in the application).
• Academic Activities: If applicable, projects, publications, and other academic outputs.

Additional documents

Academic Support Letter: A support letter from an ITU academic (faculty members, instructors, or research assistants holding a PhD) who has agreed to participate as a mentor in the Future17 programme. This letter will provide applicants with priority and a significant advantage during evaluation.

All documents must be compiled into a single PDF or Word file, following the order listed above.
