EUREKA–EUROSTARS Program Support for Our Faculty Member’s Project
The project titled “Quantum-Driven Resilient Power Systems: Revolutionizing Energy Security for the Future”, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Farzad Hashemzadeh from Istanbul Technical University’s Department of Control and Automation Engineering, has been selected for funding under the EUREKA–EUROSTARS Program.

The project focuses on applying quantum computing to next‑generation power systems, including:
- Quantum-assisted optimal power flow and flexibility analysis
- Quantum AI learning for renewable energy forecasting
- Quantum-secure grid communication and cybersecurity
- Quantum digital twins for flexible and sustainable energy systems
This collaborative initiative brings together distinguished partners from academia and industry: Aalborg University, Istanbul Technical University, University of Johannesburg, NeoGrid, and EPRA Enerji.
Over the next three years, the consortium will work on developing scalable quantum‑based solutions for energy optimization, flexibility, and cybersecurity in power grids enriched with renewable energy resources.
