MSCA Staff Exchanges Programme Support for the ARCADIA Project, Which Will Advance Infrastructure Security and Digital Transformation Efforts Across Europe
Faculty members Prof. Dr. Ercan Yüksel and Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Güllü from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Istanbul Technical University (ITU) are co- project coordinators in the ARCADIA (Augmented Reality, Operator-Centred Tools, Causal Inference & Digital Twins for Infrastructure Assessment) project, which has been selected for funding under the European Union's Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Staff Exchanges programme.
News: İTÜ Media and Communication Office
Coordinated by Politecnico di Torino, ARCADIA aims to transform infrastructure assessment by integrating augmented reality, digital twins, artificial intelligence, and causal inference into next-generation structural health monitoring systems for bridges, tunnels, and railway infrastructure. Within the project, ITU will lead the development of AI-assisted drone image classification techniques for the efficient structural health monitoring of railway tracks. Beyond advancing infrastructure safety and digital transformation across Europe, the project will foster international knowledge exchange, strengthen long-term research partnerships between academia and industry, and provide valuable international training and career development opportunities, particularly for early-career researchers.
We congratulate our academics and the project team.
