ITU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal and SUT Rector Prof. Dr. Marek Pawełczyk met on 10 July 2026 at our Ayazağa Campus. During the inter‑delegation meeting, ITU and SUT comprehensively assessed possible areas of joint work that could be implemented in education, research, technology development, entrepreneurship, and internationalization.
Our faculty members shared presentations with the SUT delegation on ongoing research conducted at ITU, laboratory infrastructure, and scientific studies.
Prof. Dr. Mandal stated that they evaluated potential collaboration opportunities for establishing a joint research center and joint laboratories in fields where both universities have strong capacities; and that they also discussed developing joint research projects, conducting collaborative graduate‑level studies, and increasing student and academic mobility. Our Rector emphasized that the meeting addressed how the joint research capacity could be further advanced and how the collaborative working model could be transformed into a more sustainable structure.
Both universities reached a mutual understanding during the meeting to establish a joint research center focused on Sustainability and Digital Technologies.
The SUT delegation also visited our Faculty of Civil Engineering and Energy Institute, where they examined ongoing research activities and laboratory infrastructure on site.
