In line with its vision of becoming a university that generates value on a global scale, Istanbul Technical University (ITU) hosted a delegation from the University at Buffalo on April 3. During the meeting, ITU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal and University at Buffalo President Prof. Dr. Satish K. Tripathi signed a memorandum of understanding.
ITU Rector stated that they have taken the collaboration between ITU and the University at Buffalo—a research university in the U.S.—which was established in 2015, to a new level by updating it in line with today’s evolving academic and technological dynamics through a new memorandum of understanding. Prof. Dr. Mandal noted that during their meeting with the delegation, they discussed in detail topics aimed at increasing collaborative research and output capacity across various disciplines, particularly in engineering and technology; enhancing the global impact of scientific knowledge; and providing our students with new opportunities on an international scale.
The memorandum of understanding covers a wide range of collaborative initiatives, including student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, interdisciplinary educational models, dual-degree programs, and online learning opportunities.
As part of their visit, a delegation from the University at Buffalo also visited ITU ARI Teknokent, where they met with Board Chair Prof. Dr. Gülsün Sağlamer and General Manager Prof. Dr. Atilla Dikbaş. Prof. Dr. Tripathi, who also received information about the ITU Pond, proceeded to our Faculty of Management and held a meeting with Dean Prof. Dr. Burhaneddin Sandıkçı.
Currently, a dual degree program in Civil Engineering is being conducted between ITU and the University at Buffalo (SUNY Buffalo). Click here for more details on the dual degree opportunities offered by ITU.
