ITU Participated in APAIE 2026 Higher Education Conference
Istanbul Technical University (ITU) participated in the APAIE 2026 Conference held in Hong Kong between 23–27 February 2026, bringing together international higher education stakeholders.

Recognized as one of the leading higher education gatherings in the Asia-Pacific region, the event provided a platform for ITU to share its strong academic infrastructure, impact- and responsibility-oriented vision, international collaboration approach, and position within the global education network with participants. During the event, new opportunities for inter-university collaboration were explored and discussions were held to strengthen existing international partnerships.
Under the “Study in Türkiye” initiative coordinated by the Turkish National Agency, a total of 82 Turkish universities participated in the fair. At the ITU stand, international partners were informed about the university’s internationalization strategy, academic programs, and exchange opportunities.
During the event, Sümeyye Şimşek and Merve Dursun from the International Exchange Programs Office within the International Relations Office represented Istanbul Technical University at the ITU stand and introduced the university’s international cooperation activities.
As part of APAIE 2026, the ITU stand was also visited by İlker Astarcı, President of the Turkish National Agency. In addition, Kerim Sercan Evcin, Consul General of Türkiye in Hong Kong, visited the “Study in Türkiye” area and held meetings with representatives of Turkish universities to support the development of international higher education collaborations.
