ITU Students' Successes in the International Arena AquaChallenge Open Water Swimming Championships

The ITU Swimming Team competed in the university category at the International Arena AquaChallenge Open Water Swimming Championships. Our swimmers secured impressive results in various categories.

The International Arena AquaChallenge Open Water Swimming Championships took place in Marmaris between October 25-26, 2025, with the participation of 20 universities and nearly 300 swimmers.

• Mehmet Ali Topal, a student from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, came 1st in the 5KM and 2nd in the 3KM.

• Efkan Durak, a student from the Department of Climate Science and Meteorology Engineering, achieved 2nd place in the 5KM and 3rd place in the 3KM.

The mixed relay team, composed of swimmers from the ITU and Boğaziçi teams, completed the 4x400m race in 1st place, winning the gold medal.
