The delegation, which came to Türkiye for the 2nd Türkiye–Jordan Higher Education Forum held in Ankara, met with ITU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal and faculty members at the Ayazağa Campus.
During the visit, where the topics discussed at the forum were concretized into a roadmap, mutual commitment was affirmed on key areas such as student and faculty mobility, joint doctoral programs, technopark collaborations, shared research centers, and laboratory infrastructure. A shared determination was emphasized to develop new projects supported by joint funding mechanisms in priority fields such as artificial intelligence, climate change, energy, disaster management, aviation technologies, wearable electronics, and agricultural technologies. It was underlined that the participation of Jordanian higher education institutions in advanced technology platforms would be supported through innovation- and entrepreneurship-oriented collaborations.
ITU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal emphasized that the higher education collaboration between Türkiye and Jordan is envisioned as a future-building endeavor rooted in a culture of joint production. He recalled that in recent months, the Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST) of Jordan and the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) had visited ITU for scientific engagements.
Rector Mandal noted that comprehensive evaluations were conducted during the visit to expand ongoing projects and academic exchange activities in critical areas such as water management, food security, biomedical applications, and sustainable transportation systems. He highlighted that Jordan is deepening its scientific engagement with Turkish universities through multifaceted collaborations.
