Dr. Nergiz Şahin Solmaz was awarded the Raymond Andrew Doctoral Thesis Award
by Groupement AMPERE at the European Magnetic Resonance Congress (EUROMAR
2025), held in Finland from July 6 to 10, 2025.
Our graduate expressed the following upon receiving the award: “I owe this
success to the knowledge I gained at ITU in integrated circuit design and
magnetic field theory, as well as to the practical problem-solving skills
instilled in me through my engineering education at ITU.”
Groupement AMPERE presents the Raymond Andrew Award annually to young
scientists who have produced outstanding doctoral theses in the field of
magnetic resonance, in honor of the pioneering work of Prof. Dr. Raymond
Andrew.
Dr. Nergiz Şahin Solmaz completed her doctoral dissertation titled “Single
Chip Dynamic Nuclear Polarization Microsystems” at École Polytechnique Fédérale
de Lausanne (EPFL) in 2023, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Giovanni Boero.
She completed her master’s degree in Electronics Engineering at ITU in 2017
under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Berke Yelten. She graduated in 2014
from ITU’s undergraduate programs in Electronics Engineering and Control and
Automation Engineering. Her undergraduate thesis in Electronics Engineering was
supervised by Prof. Dr. Ali Toker, and her thesis in Control and Automation
Engineering was completed under the supervision of Prof. Dr. İbrahim Eksin.
We congratulate our graduate on receiving this award.
