Our Rector Participated the EELISA Governing Board Meeting in Paris

The EELISA Governing Board meeting, held in Paris on May 13–14, 2025, with the participation of ITU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, provided EELISA partner universities the opportunity to collaboratively shape the future of higher education in Europe.

The partner universities of EELISA European University continue to contribute together to “European Engineering”, a vision of an impact-oriented, inclusive and sustainable future in higher education.

Hosted by two of France’s leading academic institutions—École des Ponts ParisTech (ENPC) and Université PSL – Paris Sciences et Lettres—the EELISA Governing Board meeting brought together the leadership of the universities comprising the EELISA.

The meeting addressed several critical topics, including the joint degree process within the EELISA framework, the digital campus model, research and innovation strategies, strategic priorities, and the admission of new partners.

During the meeting, ITU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal emphasized that ITU, as one of the founding partners of EELISA, continues to actively contribute to the transition of the initiative into a permanent and sustainable structure. He highlighted that ITU is not only a part of the EELISA European University vision but also a driving force in shaping its transformation, with its approach centered on interdisciplinary learning, societal impact, and sustainability.

Prof. Dr. Mandal also announced that the next EELISA Governing Board meeting will be hosted by ITU in Istanbul on November 18–19, 2025, with himself serving as Chair of the Board. He added that it is a great honor and responsibility for both ITU and Türkiye to host this significant gathering of the EELISA.
