Istanbul Technical University (ITU) students design next generation, sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation systems by creating technologies that transform the future. ITU Hyperbee Team, which develops projects towards this goal, achieved successful results in two competitions, abroad and in our country, in which it participated.
Three awards in Switzerland
Hyperbee achieved a proud success at the European Hyperloop Week (EHW) Hyperloop international competition held in Switzerland on July 15-21. The awards won by the team in the Traction, Guidance, and Sense & Control categories attracted attention as an international reflection of the skills and achievements of ITU students in the field of engineering.
“Hyperloop has a future in our country”
ITU Hyperbee team, which participated in the Hyperloop Development Competition held at TÜBİTAK’s Gebze Campus on August 13-17 under the leadership of TÜBİTAK RUTE as part of TEKNOFEST, finished the competition in second place. Our team, which competed in the 208-meter Hyperloop Development Test Tunnel with 16 finalist teams, won the Steel Levitation Award, which was given for the first time this year.
Department of Electrical Engineering student Hamza Bahadır Çelik, who serves as team captain at ITU Hyperbee, and Department of Physics Engineering student Tuba Akbulut, the deputy captain, commented to AA regarding the successful results achieved by the team. Our students pointed out that hyperloop is a new technology and expressed that it has the potential to be a pioneer in our country.
We congratulate our students for their success.
