2024 Academic Performance Awards Excitement at ITU

ITU Academic Performance Awards were given for the third time this year at a ceremony on April 25. Our academics were awarded in three categories for their scientific work.

Academic Performance Awards were given for the third time in 2024, which ITU declared the “Year of Global Impact”. Our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu, our Vice-Rectors, deans and faculty members met at the award ceremony on April 25, 2024 at Ayazağa Campus SDCC.

The awards were given in three categories: faculty members with the highest academic performance in the department in 2021-2023, faculty members with the highest publication-based performance in the department in 2023, and research assistants with the highest publication-based performance in the department in 2023.

ITU academics showed great interest in the Istanbul Technical University Academic Performance Awards, which was organized for the first time in 2021. A total of 321 names were found worthy of award in three categories. While 120 of our faculty members were deemed worthy of award in the academic performance category, 119 academics and 82 research assistants were awarded in the publication category.

Our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu made a presentation at the opening of the ceremony and shared the details about how the awards were determined. Prof. Dr. Koyuncu reiterated his call to all our academics to increase the number of scientific publications.
