Best Thesis Award to Our Research Assistant from IEEE GRSS

ITU Department of Geomatics Engineering research assistant Samet Aksoy won the “Best Master’s Thesis” award given by IEEE GRSS.

Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Geomatics Engineering research assistant Samet Aksoy received the award given in the “Master’s” category of the 2023 Graduate Thesis Competition organized by the Türkiye Chapter of the Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (IEEE GRSS) of the USA-based Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

The award was announced in a meeting held online on December 29, 2023. The title of our Res. Asst. Samet Aksoy’s master’s thesis, prepared under the supervision of Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Geomatics Engineering faculty member Prof. Dr. Elif Sertel, is “Soil Salinity Mapping Using Explainable Artificial Intelligence Methods.”
