Our Faculty Members were at the 100th Anniversary TÜBİTAK and TÜBA Science Awards Ceremony

Our faculty members received their 2023 TÜBA Outstanding Young Scientist (GEBİP) and Scientific Authored Book (TESEP) Awards at a ceremony held in Ankara.

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) academics continue to make significant contributions to the scientific world. Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) had announced our academics who are the winners of the 2023 Outstanding Young Scientist (GEBİP) and Scientific Authored Book (TESEP) Awards on November 23, 2023.

Our award-winning faculty members were presented their awards at the 100th Anniversary TÜBİTAK and TÜBA Science Awards Ceremony held at Ankara Beştepe National Congress and Culture Center on December 27, 2023. Our faculty members Prof. Dr. Mikdat Kadıoğlu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nil Özbek, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fuat Topuz and Dr. Faiz Muhaffel were given their awards by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Three of our academics received “Outstanding Young Scientist” award

Within the scope of the TÜBA-GEBİP Awards, Department of Chemistry faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fuat Topuz received award in the “Natural Sciences” category. Department of Chemical Engineering faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nil Özbek and Department of Materials Engineering faculty member Dr. Faiz Muhaffel were awarded in the “Engineering” field.

Scientific Authored Book Award to Prof. Dr. Kadıoğlu

Within the scope of TÜBA-TESEP Awards, ITU Earthquake Engineering and Disaster Management Institute, Department of Emergency and Disaster Management faculty member Prof. Dr. Mikdat Kadıoğlu received award in the “Natural and Engineering Sciences” category with his work titled Introduction to Aviation Meteorology.
