Cooperation between Istanbul Financial Center and ITU

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and Istanbul Financial Center (IFC) cooperation protocol on information technologies in the financial sector was signed at IFC on December 29, 2023.

Istanbul Technical University and Istanbul Financial Center are collaborating for information technologies and in-depth analysis studies. The protocol signing ceremony held at IFC was attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu and Istanbul Financial Center CEO Ahmet İhsan Erdem.

With the signed protocol, it is envisaged to conduct in-depth market analyzes on information technologies in the field of finance, by bringing together the academic knowledge and research competence of ITU and the sectoral experience of Istanbul Financial Center. The analyzes including the developments, current situation, and future trends in the field of information technologies in the financial sector will be prepared by ITU academics.

Internship opportunity for ITU students

The protocol will also allow ITU students to do internship at Istanbul Financial Center. Istanbul Financial Center will provide internship and candidate engineering opportunities to ITU students. In this way, it is aimed to support the training of experts in the field of information technologies in our country, to improve understanding of the sectoral needs, and to foster solution-oriented approaches.

Our main goal is to create a multi-dimensional financial services ecosystem

Underlining that the protocol is of great importance for both Istanbul Technical University and Istanbul Financial Center, our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu mentioned that ITU always carries out multidimensional studies in cooperation protocols and expressed the following: “As ITU, we cooperate with institutions operating in many different sectors. While experiencing the transformation of the knowledge we produce into products and services, we maintain our leadership in R&D and technology by following the latest trends in different sectors.”

Speaking at the signing ceremony of the protocol, Istanbul Financial Center CEO Ahmet İhsan Erdem provided insights into the goals and activities of Istanbul Financial Center and also thanked ITU administration and academics. Erdem expressed that IFC focuses on contributing to the sustainable growth of the Turkish economy.

Pointing out the significance of the cooperation with Istanbul Technical University, IFC CEO Ahmet İhsan Erdem said, “We are aware of the critical role that information technologies play in the finance sector. Therefore, we are very pleased to cooperate with Istanbul Technical University, one of our country’s leading academic institutions in this field. This protocol will enable us to generate innovative and value-added solutions by increasing the competitiveness of both our sector and our country in the field of information technologies.”
