ITU’s Innovation Fellows are at Silicon Valley

ITU’s Innovation Fellows attended the Silicon Valley Meetup at Stanford University’s Hasso Plattner Institute, together with 270 fellows from all over the world.

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) continues to support interdisciplinary innovative and entrepreneurial studies in its 250th year. The UIF meetup, an annual platform for innovation fellows from all over the world, took place in Silicon Valley on 24-26 March 2023. The attendees had the opportunity to engage with leaders in academia and industry, and to collaborate and share knowledge with their peers. ITU’s Innovation Fellows were among the participants.

During the event, our Fellows participated in experiential workshops and exercises focused on topics that include creating and running student innovation spaces, leading through movement, designing learning experiences, and exploring new models of change in higher education. With their gains acquired here, our Fellows aim to work with peer students to catalyze even greater levels of innovation and venture activity when they return to our university.

They take action to encourage and create impact

ITU’s Innovation Fellows want to make contact with other changemakers who share a passion for creativeness and cooperation. For this reason, as Fire Up Graduate Changemakers and Innovation Fellows, they established the Changemaker Society. Their goal is to expand the growth mindset on campus, as well as increase the number of students who see challenges and failures as opportunities for progress.

They will set an example for future fellows

At the event, Ömer Tarık İnce introduced the Changemaker Society, of which he is the founding president, and stated in his presentation that the society will contribute to shaping the future UIF ambassadors of our university with the events and projects it will organize.

The society is waiting for students who want to make an impact on campus as changemakers and who want to learn more about the UIF program.
