Istanbul Technical University continues to add new ones to its academic achievements in its 250th year. Res. Asst. Dr. Muhammed Enes Atik from ITU Faculty of Civil Engineering Department of Geomatics Engineering received the third award in IEEE GRSS Türkiye 2022 Thesis Competition with his Ph.D. thesis supervised by Prof. Dr. Zaide Duran.

Graduate theses on remote sensing from various universities in Türkiye participated in IEEE GRSS Türkiye 2022 Thesis Competition. Having passed the preliminary evaluation in the two-stage competition, the finalists appeared before an evaluation board consisting of academics and private sector representatives specialized in the field of remote sensing. In the final stage, which was held online, various criteria such as original value, method and applicability, scientific output, widespread impact, product patent and commercial output potential were taken into consideration.
