ITU Continues To Build Strong Collaborations

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and Ericsson signed a cooperation protocol. With this protocol, the two institutions will carry out projects on software security.

The signing ceremony held at Maslak Hilton Hotel was attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu, Ericsson Turkey President Işıl Yalçın and representatives from both institutions. The signed cooperation protocol aims for collaborative projects in the field of R&D and software security.

Commenting on the protocol, our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu stated the following: “We are pleased to announce our innovative research and studies with Ericsson, which we are sure will soon help improve Turkey’s digital fabric. As we, ITU, enter our 250th year, we continue our work and collaborations without slowing down, with the motto ‘Transform the Future’. Aware that R&D and digitalization, in which we have always been pioneers, are the most important elements for the world of the future, we believe in the importance of partnerships in technology and innovation.”

Ericsson Turkey President Işıl Yalçın emphasized the importance of cooperation with the academia and commented as follows: “Cooperating with the academia and supporting the local innovation ecosystem has always been our priority since the day we started operating in Turkey. We would like to emphasize once again our belief in the importance of cooperation with the leading academic institutions of our country. These collaborations not only enable Turkey to contribute significantly to global research on new technologies, but also nurture and upskill the country’s qualified human resources. In addition, as the Hexa-X project is in full swing, we will continue to work with the academia to explore future connectivity solutions, especially 6G technology, with the goal of a more connected digital future.”
