Our Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Elif Karaosmanoğlu Became the First Turkish President Elected to EMAC

ITU Faculty of Management faculty member Prof. Dr. Elif Karaosmanoğlu became the President-Elect of the European Marketing Academy (EMAC). Prof. Dr. Karaosmanoğlu became the first Turkish academic to be elected president of EMAC and will serve for three years.

ITU Faculty of Management faculty member Prof. Dr. Elif Karaosmanoğlu became the President-Elect of the European Marketing Academy (EMAC). Prof. Dr. Karaosmanoğlu became the first Turkish academic to be elected president and will serve between 2024-2027.

EMAC (European Marketing Academy)

European Marketing Academy (EMAC) is Europe’s biggest academy and scientific communication network with over 1000 members from more than 50 different countries in all five continents, established in 1975. Its purpose is to provide a society for persons professionally concerned with or interested in marketing theory and research and to serve as the core of a communication network for disseminating information and promoting international exchange in the field of marketing. 

About Prof. Dr. Elif Karaosmanoğlu

After graduating from ITU Management Engineering (1998), Prof. Dr. Elif Karaosmanoğlu received her master’s degree from Marmara University Business Administration (English) (2001) and then received a CoHE scholarship and completed her Ph.D. at Warwick Business School (2007). She conducted research at University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business as Fulbright Visiting Scholar (2013-2014) and at SKEMA Business School as French Embassy of Türkiye Visiting Scholar (2018). She conducts marketing and consumer research based on numerical methods in the fields of corporate brand communication, social responsibility and consumer ethics, consumer-technology interactions. She is on the Editorial Board of Journal of Product and Brand Management. She was the National Representative of Türkiye in EMAC Executive Committee between 2010-2016 and in May 2021, she has become the first Turkish academic elected to the Steering Committee as Vice-President for Conferences for the 2021-2024 term.
