Third Prize to Our Student at the Chess Championship
Our Computer Engineering Department student Çiğdem Onur came third in the 2022 Arzum Turkey Women’s Chess Championship held between 5-11 March 2022.

2022 Arzum Turkey Women’s Chess Championship, which was held between 5-11 March 2022, ended after the award ceremony held in Ayvalık. After 9 rounds in total during the tournament, our Computer Engineering Department student Çiğdem Onur came third in the championship.
Speaking at the award ceremony, where there was wide participation, Turkish Chess Federation President Gülkız Tulay said, “As the Turkish Chess Federation, we are striving for the sport of chess to reach 85 million and for every citizen to get acquainted with the sport of chess. Today, the sport of chess is one of the most preferred sports in our country with its many successes such as international degrees, organizational ability appreciated by the world, and the number of licensed athletes.”
