ITU is in Top 3 in 2021 Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index

Istanbul Technical University is in the top three in "Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index" for 2021, which was created under the leadership of TÜBİTAK.

Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank announced "Entrepreneurial and Innovative University Index" for 2021, which was prepared for the tenth time this year by TÜBİTAK, at the Impact Analysis Studies Evaluation Workshop held at the Presidential Nation’s Library.

In the announced index, Istanbul Technical University ranked third among the most entrepreneurial and innovative universities of 2021, after METU and Sabancı, with a score of 72.5.

 How is the index prepared?

A dataset of 1 million cells collected from 191 universities was evaluated in a nine-month study. To this study carried out under the leadership of TÜBİTAK, contributions were made by Ministry of Industry and Technology, CoHE, Presidency of Defence Industries, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Ministry of Treasury and Finance, KOSGEB, TÜRKPATENT, TAGEM, TENMAK, TÜBA, Center for EU Education and Youth Programmes and 287 more institutions including our universities. As a result of this evaluation made according to certain criteria, the first 50 universities included in the index were determined.
