ITU’s Success in TÜBA and TÜBİTAK Awards

TÜBİTAK and TÜBA Awards under the auspices of the Presidency were given to their owners in a ceremony held at Beştepe. 6 scientists from ITU were deemed worthy for “Outstanding Young Scientist Award” while two of our faculty members were deemed worthy for TÜBİTAK Science Award and two of our faculty members were deemed worthy for TÜBİTAK Encouragement Award.

Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) and Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) awards were given to their owners in a ceremony held at Beştepe National Congress and Culture Center on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 under the auspices of the Presidency. While Turkish Academy of Sciences 2021 “Outstanding Young Scientist Award” (TÜBA-GEBİP) was received by 6 scientists from ITU, two of our faculty members were deemed worthy for TÜBİTAK Science Award and two of our faculty members were deemed worthy for TÜBİTAK Encouragement Award.

Faculty of Science and Letters, Department of Physics Engineering faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Özkan was granted TÜBA-GEBİP award in the field of natural sciences whereas Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Control and Automation Engineering Department faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tufan Kumbasar, Faculty of Chemical Metallurgical Engineering, Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohammedreza Nofar, Faculty of Chemical Metallurgical Engineering, Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duygu Ağaoğulları, Faculty of Textile Technologies and Design, Department of Textile Engineering faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meltem Yanılmaz and Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering faculty member Asst. Prof. Dr. Onur Ergen were granted TÜBA-GEBİP award in the field of engineering.

TÜBİTAK Science Awards were granted to Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Environmental Engineering faculty member Prof. Dr. İdil Arslan Alaton, Faculty of Mines Department of Mineral Processing Engineering faculty member Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sabri Çelik whereas Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Geomatics Engineering faculty member Prof. Dr. Elif Sertel and Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Environmental Engineering faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hale Özgün Erşahin were granted TÜBİTAK Encouragement Award.
