ITU Ayazağa Campus is 57th in the World's Greenest Campus Ranking and First in Turkey
Istanbul Technical University (ITU) became the "57th greenest campus in the world" in the international UI GreenMetric ranking, which evaluates academic campuses in terms of green area and sustainability. It maintained its first place among the three universities from Turkey that entered the top 100. With this success, ITU is the only university in Turkey to win the first place in the ranking for the fifth time.

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) became the "57th greenest campus in the world" in the UI GreenMetric ranking, which evaluates academic campuses in terms of green area and sustainability. In this year’s list that includes a total of 956 universities, ITU has become one of the most prestigious universities with its 57th place.
Istanbul Technical University, which implemented many novelties and firsts in our country with its Green Campus studies, ranked 57th in the UI GreenMetric ranking, which evaluates the campuses of the world's prestigious universities in terms of greenness and sustainability, and ranked 1st among the three universities in the top 100 from Turkey.
2021 UI GreenMetric makes evaluation in terms of infrastructure, energy, climate change, recycling, water resources, transportation and education.
UI GreenMetric World University Rankings
UI GreenMetric was launched in 2010 by the initiative of Universitas Indonesia in order to attract attention to issues of global climate change, energy and water conservation, waste recycling, and green transportation. UI GreenMetric, which aims to provide more attention to sustainability of the environment and economic and social problems related to sustainability, collects numeric data from thousands of universities worldwide. Universities are evaluated according to a single score that reflects their efforts to implement environmentally friendly and sustainable policies and programs.
