Our faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Atıl Aşıcı has won the Best Paper Award

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Atıl Aşıcı 's article presented at the 27th ERF Conference won the "Best Article Award".

ITU Management Engineering faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Atıl Aşıcı has won the Best Paper Award at the 27th ERF Conference held in June 2021 with a paper (joint work with Sevil Acar and Erinç Yeldan) titled “Potential Effects of the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism on the Turkish Economy“.

We congratulate Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Atıl Aşıcı and his colleagues and wish them continued success.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Atıl Aşıcı

Ahmet Atıl Aşıcı has worked as an associate professor of economics at Istanbul Technical University, Department of Management Engineering since 2009. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, in 2007. While pursuing his PhD studies, he worked as an economic officer at UNCTAD between 2005 and 2006. Aşıcı received his MA degree in economics from Bosphorus University in 1999 and his BS degree in management engineering from Istanbul Technical University in 1996. During the 2017/2018 academic year, he spent one year conducting research at the University of Oregon, USA.

 His current research concentrates on the green economic transformation. Aşıcı has published extensively on the relationship between economic growth and environmental sustainability and subjective well-being in respected academic journals. He is currently working on a project titled “Green New Deal for Turkey” as 2020-2021 Mercator-IPC fellow."
