Our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu Became Member of Turkish Patent and Trademark Office
Our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu has been appointed as Member of Management Board of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.

According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, Our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu has been appointed as Member of Management Board of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.
The appointment decree was published in the Official Gazette dated July 29, 2021. In the decision numbered 2021/371, it was stated that our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu has been appointed as Member of Management Board of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office in accordance with Articles 2 and 3 of the Presidential Decree No. 3 and Article 362 of the Presidential Decree No. 4.
About Turkish Patent and Trademark Office
Turkish Patent and Trademark Office registers patents, utility models, brands, geographical indications, traditional product names, designs and integrated circuit topographies in accordance with the provisions of the relevant legislation, and carries out the procedures related to the protection of these rights. It acts as mediator in compulsory license procedures and as expert in courts. It registers and records license and transfer agreements. It monitors the use of inventions, evaluates new technologies, directs and archives technology transfer. It conducts relationships and cooperates with the European Union, international organizations and foreign countries in the field of industrial property. It represents Turkey before international organizations with the approval of our Ministry of Industry and Technology. It contributes to the preparation of international agreements on industrial property rights by protecting the interests of the country and ensures the implementation of these agreements in Turkey. It cooperates with national and international institutions and organizations related to technology and research-development and with data banks, establishes documentation centers and makes this information available to the public. It provides training to individuals and organizations in the field of industrial property at home and abroad, and supports educational activities and academic studies related to the subjects within its scope of duties.
