University-Industry Cooperation between ITU and MATIL
A cooperation protocol was signed between Istanbul Technical University and Materials Testing and Innovation Laboratories Co. (MATIL).

A cooperation protocol was signed between ITU and Materials Testing and Innovation Laboratories Co. (MATIL), which was established by Turkish Steel Exporters' Association (ÇİB) at ITU Ayazağa Campus in order to use the existing infrastructure effectively for developing value-added products in the steel sector.
The signing ceremony held at ITU Rectorate was attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Kızıl, ÇİB Chairman Adnan Aslan and MATIL Executive Board Chair Mustafa Tecdelioğlu.
The protocol between ITU and MATIL includes evaluating joint studies that will strengthen university-industry cooperation, executing possible projects and services, carrying out joint trainings, and performing P&D/R&D studies.
MATIL will serve the industry in testing, R&D, innovation, technology development and consultancy, sectoral and technical training, accredited laboratory services, and product compliance. The agreement will be valid for four years.
Regarding the scientific and technological research and projects planned to be carried out within the scope of the protocol, the parties will be solution partners in line with each other's demands and needs. In this context, it is aimed to create maximum benefit by developing information, services, technological products and processes.
