The article titled “The Road to Permanently Hygienic Wooden Surfaces” by İTÜ Graduate Institute Polymer Science and Technology Department student Mehmet Bilgehan Bilgiç prepared together with his advisor Chemistry Department Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Yusuf Yağcı was published.
Owing to the new technology inspired by Prof. Dr. Yusuf Yağcı’s previous antimicrobial work and developed by Kubilay Boya, viruses and bacteria on wooden surfaces disappear.
The article emphasizes the role of the coatings industry in the battle against COVID-19 and presents antiviral coatings that stand out as a permanent, rapid end reliable solution in preventing transmission through touch.
The technology developed under the supervision of Chemistry Department faculty member Prof. Dr. Yusuf Yağcı will play a key role in the battle against COVID-19.
