İTÜ and Qatar University Signed a Memorandum of Understanding
Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) and Qatar University (QU) signed a memorandum of understanding to boost their cooperation in the fields of science and education, which will be managed jointly by specialists and academics from both institutions. The agreement signed via a video conference will be a part of the steps taken in the field of higher education for strengthening the relationship between the two countries.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu, Istanbul Technical University Rector, and Dr. Hassan Al-Derham, President of Qatar University, with the attendance of Mehmet Mustafa Göksu, the Turkish ambassador to Qatar, and Prof. Mariam Al-Maadeed, Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies at Qatar University, in addition to a number of persons concerned from both universities.
The emphasis of the memorandum of understanding on the cooperation and methods of collaboration between the two institutions, especially in scientific research, reflects various academic efforts falling under the strategic educational plan of both universities, striving for excellence in scientific research through involvement with local and international stakeholders, for the development of knowledge, science and innovation.
Academic and scientific information will be exchanged
The signing of the memorandum of understanding by İTÜ and QU will further boost the research collaboration between the two institutions and provide opportunities for capacity building to excel in the field of science and technology for the benefit of the two countries in subjects strategic to Turkey as well as Qatar.
The collaboration and memorandum of understanding will also provide a framework for sharing knowledge and educational, academic and scientific experiences; exchange of information including newsletters, journals, studies; conducting research studies; holding conferences, meetings, and trainings; and exchange of faculty members and/or research scholars.
