A strategic collaboration was launched between Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) with a signing ceremony held on April 7, 2025, at our Ayazağa Campus.
The memorandum of understanding was signed as part of strengthening cooperation relations between RSS and the members of the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organizations (WAITRO). ITU and RSS will develop frameworks for collaboration in their shared scientific and technological areas of interest.
ITU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal stated that through the collaboration with RSS, they plan to conduct joint research in critical areas that directly impact the future of humanity, such as water resource management, climate change, renewable energy, and disaster management. Prof. Dr. Mandal emphasized that their goal is to combine ITU's 250 years of scientific expertise and strong R&D infrastructure with RSS's regional experience and application know-how to achieve science-based outcomes.
The collaboration aims to enhance knowledge sharing by organizing faculty exchange programs, joint projects, and international conferences, while also providing new cooperation opportunities for young researchers. Additionally, it is planned to create synergy through the mutual use of the laboratories and research facilities within ITU and RSS.
