ITU TAM’s success in the competition aiming to minimize energy consumption for sustainability

The Technical Assistance Project for establishment of Eskişehir Design and Innovation Center (EDIC), which is a part of the Competitive Sectors Program of the Ministry of Industry and Technology within the framework of the European Union’s financial cooperation with Türkiye, was launched in 2020. One of the three pillars of the thirty-month project, implemented by Anadolu Technology Research Park (ATAP Inc.), the Managing Company of Eskişehir Technology Development Zone, were activities aimed at increasing communication and visibility. EDICtive Design Competition was organized within the framework of these activities.

EDICtive Design Competition aims to develop solutions that will minimize energy consumption in heating and cooling systems in machines and residences by using additive manufacturing methods. Applications of projects from industry and university categories were accepted to the competition.

ITU TAM (Technologies of Additive Manufacturing) project team won the second prize with its project in EDICtive Design Competition. A gift voucher of 20 thousand TL was presented to ITU TAM Team as the prize.

During the event, ITU Department of Mechanical Engineering faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emrecan Söylemez shared his knowledge and experiences in the panel titled “The Future of Additive Manufacturing and its Impact on Industrial Productivity”.
