Unmanned Underwater Systems Competition organized within the framework of TEKNOFEST started today at ITU olympic swimming pool. In the final of the competition, in which underwater robots aiming to control underwater activities are built, 75 teams will compete in “junior” and “senior” categories. The race of multifunctional robots with underwater maneuverability will lead the development of robotic technologies of the future.

ITU Communications Director Adem Dönmez made the following statement about the competition: “As ITU, we are very happy to host TEKNOFEST's Unmanned Underwater Systems Competition. We are very excited to witness the sprouting of new projects from ITU, by presenting the scientific and technological infrastructure of our university to the youth. In this way, we also enable our youth to get acquainted with the experience and culture of Istanbul Technical University, which is approaching its 250th year.”
