Award to ITU Nano Team from Malaysia

The TÜBİTAK-funded project titled “Development of Microfluidic-Based Portable Test Kit for Aflatoxin Detection in Liquid Foods,” whose principal investigator is ITU Faculty of Mechanical Engineering faculty member Prof. Dr. Levent Trabzon, won the first place in International Innovation Competition 2021 (IAM2021) in the international category as the first and only university from Turkey.

In the competition held in Malaysia and attended by 1,267 participants from 9 countries, our faculty member Prof. Dr. Levent Trabzon and his Ph.D. student Nagihan Okutan Arslan and undergraduate students Onur Nurtan, Nazım Can Önder, Baturay Dalgıç and Gülce Topal achieved a great success by winning “The Best of The Best Innovation Award” and “Gold Award”.

This achievement stands out as the third degree obtained by ITU MEMS R&D Center from innovation competitions in the last year. Other achievements of the center include the 4th place in Teknofest Competition and the 1st place in Başakşehir Living Lab Innovation Competition.
